Sivan's Talking Watch
The Diaries of Wilhelmina Brody Moriarty

Monday, 3 May later
The Ompa people are amazing workmen. In the space of a night they took the plans I drew up for the really really fast ship and built it. Albert awoke before I did and he had to surprise me with it. We explored the new ship for a bit and it was created exactly as I drew it substituting local materials when necessary. They made the engine out of brass not the hardened steel I called for in my plans. Iron and steel being scarce on the island.  Father  Albert and I worked out  that the engine will still work up to around 50 knots. Father came up with 52, Albert and I both think we can get it up to 57 before the engine tears itself apart. Emily is already complaining.
