Tuesday, 20 April
Bought this journal in the market today to replace the one I left back
in London. We have arrived safely at Labuan Colony. Spent most of the
day attempting to gather information and despite Mrs. Frazers best
efforts I managed to learn something.
Wednesday, 21 April
Packing again today we know where Father went. I do so hope he is all
right he has been missing for such a long time.
Thursday, 22 April
We are underway. Both ships are fully coaled and provisioned Sir C and
I went over the engines before we left port.
Friday, 23 April
Today is Shakespeare's Birthday I read Hamlet to the children.
Saturday, 24 April
Bit of weather today for part of the day I went up and sat in the
bow of the ship letting the water and wind wrap around me. At least
until I noticed George trying to be inconspicuous watching me. I might
have felt like letting my frustration vent to the storm, but not if it
meant having poor George soaked to the skin.
Sunday, 25 April
Spent the day working on the gob gun. Sir C worked on his eitheric
pulse cannon.
Monday, 26 April
We are making good time I wish there was something I could do.
Tuesday, 27 April
Bit of a run in with pirates today. The Gob gun works as I expected. I
had a long talk with Mr Frazer about potential sales to the police
force. Burns are better than a gunshot. We have taken on board a
gentleman who insists his name is John Smith, he insisted too strongly
and Mrs Frazer was the one doing the questioning. His real name is
Captain Will Sparrow.
Wednesday, 28 April
Slept late Captain Sparrow has an enormous capacity for rum and an
extensive collection of stories about himself.
Thursday, 29 April
I demonstrated how to pick locks to Galen today. He seems to have a
good grasp of the fundamentals behind it.
Saturday, 1 May
V showed up again last night. George was in a mood all morning. We
should be passing through the Veil to this island today.
Sunday, 2 May
It was quite a busy day yesterday. We found mother safe and for the
first time that I can remember sober. I now know what Father was
talking about when he said there was more to her at one time. We had a
nice tea. The mantel of Fist of Shiva seems to have been taken up by
Captain Forester. Sir Bond is a Cad.
Sunday, 2 May later
What a wonderful day we have found Albert and Father Safe! I can barely
contain myself I feel like a clockwork with the escape mechanism
disabled! Willy and Davy are here too. I can't help but to expect
Howard to pop up from behind a bush. After talking to Father I think I
can now see the space we are occupying clearly in my head. I do not
think one can describe it properly in English. The shape of this area
might explain the odd time confusion we seem to be running into.
I have Sir C and Namaste a Christmas present worked out now. I
will have to start working on it right away.
