My Dearest Dr Wilson,
I hope this letter finds you in good health and cheerful spirits. I must apologize for the long delay between letters. Time has been the element lacking in every endeavor of mine but one must persevere. Please pass on my greetings to Mortimer and Leslie and my wish that Morty call upon our Hospitality at the earliest opportunity.
Your exploits in Orange Walk Town in British
Honduras have been in all the papers. Lady C and I saved some
clippings and they should be in the accompanying package. The
lads at the rocket works were all but bursting with pride and
Edward started work on his own rocket kite. The difficulty in
keeping the wings extended during flight necessitated the use
of a spring steel frame with a canvas skin. While the number sevens
from the Instant Ascender would get the Kite aloft they felt somewhat
sluggish, We are attempting to rectify this by using a liquid
fueled rocket based on your Medium range designs. Progress has
been slow but steady the shorting of the frame and consequently
the engine and tanks resulted in some very fine explosions. But
we are currently at a eighty three percent success rate. I have
included all my development notes and a working proto type for
you to study. In addition is a foldable frame suitable to have
on one's person under an oversized coat for those times when discretion
is the order of the day. If you attempt to employ it please make
note to have support struts G and H firmly locked into place.
The wings have a disturbing inclination to fold back in upon themselves
when not properly braced.
Your Friend Wilhelmina
P.S. I have included your standard order of ammunition and the chemicals that Mortimer requested in the case as well.
