Sivan's Talking Watch

The Diaries of Wilhelmina Brody

Dear Dr Wilson,

I hope this letter finds you in satisfactory condition and that business in the western territories is all cleared up.

I am writing today to tell you about the most wonderful experience! We were investigating some ruins beneath Doverton Abbey when a transportation device activated quite suddenly. One strongly suspects that Lt Wooster was playing with the control mechanism while I was distracted. The device acts like a very fast lift and me and Mrs Wooster were transported 22,235 Miles and some odd feet above the earth. Needless to say it came as a bit of a shock to Emily. After assuring her there was very little chance of drowning, I began to pump the beings I encountered there for information.

What I have discovered: the ether between the planets is very thin any ship attempting to travel it must be built air tight. The sun side of a ship will become quite hot while the side left in shadow will be quite cold, rotation of our ship will be needed. The ship I was on did not use rockets for propulsion so there must be some other method of motivating a ship but it refused to comment on what it was. I can only conjecture that it uses some form of magnetism to move itself between planets.

All too soon it was time to leave we were being rescued. I hope to have another conversation with the being from the ship who has joined us before he has to leave. I have a million questions for him.

Yours Truly Wilhelmina Moriarty

P.S. Please tell Mortimer that if he doesn't visit soon I will be forced to take drastic measures.
