Evening
Off to Portsmouth, I have been excused from class at Otto's today.
I am not sure wether I should be rejoicing having escaped the
terrible trio or not. Mellissa brought me some porridge around
11am and informed me that if I was up to speaking with them various
people would like to talk to me. After the interviews Sir C came
and applied some salve to my burns and had me imbibe some extract
15. From Sir C's line of querying I am sure G heard my episode
last night and did not believe me about the chemistry experiments.
After a nap we were busy packing one of the targets was the Royal
Yacht we have been asked to render assistance searching for explosives.

Mr Brown is in attendance so the menace to the royal family is
plausible. I am asking for a rest between dives. Our first inspection
dive lasted more than three hours this is the longest I have ever
been in the powered diving suit. I have noted a slight headache
and some difficulty concentrating on the task at hand. I am un
sure if this is the result of my recent injuries or the prolonged
dive. When I get the opportunity I must ask one of the members
of the diving academy if they experience any of these symptoms
on a long dive.
Some time after my last entry Mrs Cuthbert discovered a bomb secreted in the boiler room, an explosion there while the ship was under way would have surely caused the boiler to explode killing many of the crew and passengers and causing the ship to succumb to the waves almost instantly. The bomber has been apprehended and is being questioned by Sir Phillip now. The diving crew still has three more ships to inspect Edward is doing his part.

I slept most of the morning, Sir C and I were up late working
on a slight modification to the Rhinoceros. Lt Wooster
and Cain should take on the emergency supplies a few hours before
they set sail, I fervently hope they do not have cause to need
them.

Dress fitting this morning. I have been invited to a ball and
have nothing that would do. G realized my situation as soon as
the mail arrived and alerted the dressmaker and milliner. The
other Ladies are here as well. While they were being fitted I
worked on my lessons. Stuart was kind enough to stop by Otto's
and retrieve them for me on Tuesday. Edward asked for some time
off this afternoon to visit Miss Mitzy and to check up on Davy.
August 11, 1871
Miss Mitzy was unsure whether one could do what I proposed but
said that I could have my meeting with the Actuary tomorrow night.
I do hope he accepts my offer there has been much bloodshed resulting
from grandfathers death, I wish to put an end to the whole matter.
I received an answer in the late morning post. The meeting will move ahead on schedule. I am suddenly as nervous as a Chinese bride about to meet her arranged groom.

Things have been settled, Master Tam and I have arranged a meeting
schedule to keep track of common interest.
