I was awoken by an odd dream of grandfather this morning. He was
assisting me in working on some sort of steam engine, while giveing
me warnings most dire about his former associates. All the while
a vexing man in a waistcoat who kept interrupting our conversations
with cheese quotes. Half of them were not even real quotes but
mangling of real quotes.

I have met my father, and thank goodness it's not Claude! Who
it turns out is nothing more than a thug attempting to use his
physical resemblance to Grandfather to swindle his way into the
leadership of Grandfathers former gang. Claude attempted to bring
me into his confidence me while I was alone upon a roof. The more
he spoke the more I was convinced of his fakery. As I was attempting
to maneuver into a position where I could make my escape the sounds
of combat drifted up. Claude then attempted to take me by force,
he met resistance in the form of one Lt Pellew , who had just
scaled the wall to see if I was all right. To scale the wall he
had removed his shoes revealing his feet and establishing beyond
doubt we were related. While the blackguard was distracted I took
the opportunity to pin one of his feet to the roof with one of
my daggers. No running away for him this time. After the dust
and the bodies had settled, Lt Pellew somewhat sheepishly confessed
to me he though he could possibly be my long missing, much imitated,
sire.
