Edward did not return home this morning. I fear that he might
have fallen and hurt himself. If I do not hear word of him by
noon I will venture out. Noon, the household received a post.
Edward has been captured by the young Cobb and they are holding
him for ransom. I fear I must go see what I can do to win his
freedon.

It is late as I write this. Edward
has been returned safely. Of the past day's events, where does
one begin? The Young Cobb, it turns out, is mine and Edward's
grandfather. This news comes as a bit of a shock but it doeas
explain why Mother went to such trouble to try to find me. Grandfather
offered a rather large sum of money to her if I could be delivered
to him. In an unfortunate turn of events I suspect the the young
Cobb passed beyond the veil. I will wear black for the proscribed
time but one can not help but wonder what like would be like had
I been raised in the Moriarty household.
