Dearest Mother,

We have arrived safely in the East.  The area we are in is quite picturesque and we will tell you all about once we are back home.

We do have some special news, however.  Helen and I are expecting our first child!  It is rather intimidating.  We are both very excited and hope to be back in Uffington well before the birth.

I am, as always, concerned for Helen and the baby’s well being, with all the extra dangers my position with the government and here in the East.  I know she is well able to take care of herself and we have worked on her marksmanship with some help from our companions.  But she is still my darling and now has such a precious gift within her, so I worry.  I do understand that she will want to accompany me/us in our work here, so I have talked it over with one in our group, a Hindi man, who is an especial friend of mine.  He and I will work on some meditation to give me patience and peace to allow Helen her will, while allowing me to keep an extra ‘eye’ on her.

In closing, we are well and there is plenty for me to do here.  Benton, as always is a blessing and being able to see his Robert more often is a joy.

My best to you and my Sisters, I remain your loving son,

Simon
