Report Update.
London.
28 May 1870.
MacGreggor.
Morning. Located suspect "S. Gabriel",
followed same.
Shopping: pickle brine(?), fresh meat(?). These things have been
stored at his rented room. Note: This is a daily occurrence.
Followed through the city. Is he looking for something? Someone?
Afternoon. Tailed Gabriel to Victoria Station. Interest in a large party exiting train from Harwich. Note: Dr. Jebediah Wilson, known as Kid Rocket in the states, is with this party! Party met by a large man, very well dressed-expensive?-looks very well off. Find out more about this man.
Gabriel follows party, interest seems centered on Wilson. Arrive at a mansion, where the party seems to live. Watched. Followed when Gabriel followed Wilson and two other gentlemen (one obviously an officer in Her Majesty's Navy the other his servant) to his laboratory (check out B. F. & C Stein). Waited and watched. Trailed after when Gabriel and the others leave. Arrive at the wharf.
Evening. Caught snippets of conversation - seems these men (who are these blighters with Wilson?)are looking into the two most recent murders as the male had been in Wilson's employ (report this to Howells). Overheard interrogation of a witness by the uniformed gents. Witness was in rough shape, seems Rip Chipwidgeon had asked many of the same questions of this man - in his own special way. Witness saw man in top hat and great coat leaning over the murder victims wiping off two swords, and stated possible connection to circus. Followed Gabriel trailing group to Chigwidgeon's rooms.
Outside Chigwidgeon's place. Group of women (some of those with Wilson getting off train earlier) exit the building before the group goes in. One mentions that there is "icky black magic" watching Wilson (is this Gabriel?)! Gabriel has ducked around a corner - must have spotted me. (Note: Second time I have heard him whistle and a horse appears from - NOWHERE?) Waiting, watching Wilson's party. Following same - assume Gabriel is following too.
Night. Outside Willy's Penny Circus. Younger woman in Wilson's group approaches Rip Chigwidgeon - seems to be somehow related to the man! Heard him say he knows a man who makes custom sheaths for swords. Following the group following Rip to this man. (Note: officer seems to be rather a letch.) Continue to follow group to The Leather Shop. Arrived at shop and it was on fire! Then somehow (?) it wasnt. Watched through a window when a woman from Wilsons group went inside. Our informant was quite dead.
Bradstreet and his band of bobbies arrived. As soon as they saw Wilson, they arrested him! Stepped out from my role as observer and vouched for Wilson to Bradstreet. He had no choice but to continue investigating. Approached by the woman who had gone inside the building. She told a wild tale of some vision she had about Sentenza being the culprit! She saw him shoot a rocket from the top of another building! (Note: Odd times these, with horses from nowhere and visions of crimes!) Intelligent girl that one, odd perhaps, but impressive.
Wilson and group went back to their mansion, but I was invited to visit after I made my report. Asked Bradstreet, after reporting what I suspected about the fire, about the earlier robbery at St. Ernestines. He said the man on the case was Constable Strawberry and was informed where to find him. Also discovered from Bradstreet that the mystery man who met Wilsons group that morning was Sir Philip Bond!
Strawberry told the story of the stolen relic of St. Ernestines. Explained how the vicar identified a visitor, M. Gabriel, who had been there around the time of the theft. Description fits Sentenza exactly! (Note: New alias for Sentenza). Too many pints to get the information on; both our parts.
Kept appointment at the residence of Sir Cosmo Cowperthwaite, where the Wilson group lives. Noticed strong smell of picklebrine as I approach the mansion and note a figure with glowing blues eyes on a horse watching it. Report him to household and beg for coffee. Confusion: lots of loud noise, fights, bird wings beating, people rushing, head spinning. Guarding those not directly involved in confusion. Told it was Senteza Angel Eyes and some raven spirit thing that possibly is an alias of his horse? Oh my head.
