Excerpts from the diary of Mrs Emily Wooster (Emily Bertilde that was)

Finally back in Civilized London.  Well, mostly civilized.  The chocolate back in Carpania was particularly fine and I do miss it.

Barmy called today.  There is an upcoming Bombards party that I wasn't planning on going to.  I was feeling unqualified to give compliments to all of them, but Barmy convinced me that I would be perfectly welcome.  And I could give compliments to Himself.  But not to Barmy for the bravery before we got married because that wasn't this year.  And I get to wear my uniform.  I must make sure that it still fits, and alter it if it doesn't.  I also remembered to check my calendar and make sure the date was free.

Guy Fawks day

Willamina wanted to go on the barge with the fireworks.  Mrs. Frazer was kind enough to escort Wilamina so that I didn't have to go on the barge.  Henry went though.  It was quite an impressive show, although the fireworks under the water were eerey.

I won a hat.  I went to the Bombard party tonight.  It ran a bit late and I kept dozing off.  I kept getting awakened by people pinning ribbons on me.  As they were leaving my note alone, though, I didn't think anything of it.  Then Himself woke me up saying I had to give a thank you speech.  After getting things all straightened out, I found I was the most celebrated bombard of the evening.  The hat is quite impressive.  A little...  ostentatious... for everyday wear though.  I think I shall let the Moose display it.  We finally managed to get it out of the stairway to somewhere I don't have to look at it every day...  Henry also got an award for sinking a boat in dry-dock.  Apparently not the first time.  It seems he last got it when he last got the hat.  It was a big to do because it was the first time someone had gotten both the soggy powder award and the hat at the same time.  The bombards escorted us home and I let them celebrate downstairs.  I was exhausted and falling asleep,

Later, one of the bombards came over and saw the Hat on the Moose and said I was displaying it in one of the celebrated manners.

Mrs Samaline had a healthy baby boy.  He's quite a charming little thing after all.  Maybe having some thems won't be quite as horrid as I thought.

A couple of new Wonka candies came out.  The sunshine one is a tasty golden toffee.  Not as good as chocolate, but still good.  The butterfly one is a couple different fruit flavors.  Quite good, but not my favorite.  Willamina can't stop raving about them.
