Elephants.
Bah. It's like being on a boat and I'm now seasick on the
land. We can't get there soon enough. He seems to
like it though. He has a steering wheel and is pretending to
steer the elephant.
First night of camping was pretty uneventful. The monsoons
haven't arrived here yet so it's hot and dry instead of hot and
humid. And we're in the middle of nowhere.
Another day of travel. Still on the elephants. Still
seasick. Landsick? Elephant sick? Oh, and I totally
lost the contents of my stomach when we went by the temple. Meat
on a stick with spices and yogurt in the heat is a bad
idea. Not very excited about camping out again, but it's
better than being on the elephants.
Later. Well, it was better until the giant pythons showed
up. The fight was all jolly and such, but messy and the snake
skins were rather armored and hard to deal with. I even put a
nick in my sword! How dare those rotten snakes! Although,
the snake squishing Wilamina seemed to cut easily enough. Maybe
that was just me being even more angry. He also managed to get
Himself hurt, but He seems to be ok. Willamina almost died (did
die? So confusing) and there were lots of other injuries.
Oh, and the Snakes exploded when they died. Slime all over.
Once again I lost the contents of my stomach. Maybe I should just
stop eating
The man controlling the snakes made the mistake of attacking the
children (and holding on to Galen!) and Lady Copperthwait told Galen to
free himself however he could. I'm so proud of little
Galen! He used the fountain pen he was holding to poke the bad
man's eye out! He's officially graduated from the 'anything in
reach is a weapon' school. I do believe I need to find him his
very own little pokey!
I also thought Lady C was amazing in her whole continuing to take care
of said man after the fighting was over. Mrs. Frazer and
Mrs. Samaline were very unhappy that she had continued after the
fighting stopped. I let them stop me before, but maybe I'll
follow Lady C's example...
One interesting side effect is that George seems to have traded his
soul with Wilamina and they are now in the wrong bodies. The
ladies said that they will figure it all out in the morning. In
the mean time, we're keeping them close but still apart and I'm sharing
chaperone duties with Mrs. Frazer. It's going to be a long night.
Proceed to So much
trouble!
