So you want to know the pairings before you start:
What made Buffy the Vampire Slayer work for me were all the relationships, not just the romantic ones. I don't hate any of the characters. In some ways I'm like a kid who labels everything "my favorite." This may be why I've gotten a reputation in other fandoms for writing stories with casts of thousands. Eventually Xander/Spike will find true love together. Willow/Tara will come together. I'm undecided on where either Buffy or Riley will end up ultimately. I can see things going several different ways for them. In the early chapters you will see Buffy/Riley, Xander/Anya, Xander/Scott Hope, Spike/Other, Giles/Olivia, plus lots of furtive glances and unresolved romantic tension all over the place, including but not limited to Spike starting to wonder if Xander might not be a bit of all right, and Xander struggling with his own identity. You will also see a lot of friendship development. I currently have 14 season 4 episodes plotted out, and about 10 season 5 eps, so if you're looking to see characters jumping into each others' arms instantly, this probably isn't the fic for you. On the other hand, if you want to be along for the long haul, this may be for you. |
